Beautification Machines, 2015
Building on their 2014 collaboration, acquired by the Nevada Museum of Art, the artists created Beautification Machines. This multi-media sculpture consists of two neutralizing poles, one with live feeds from FOX, the other from MSNBC news: doubling down on the mission of corralling the vitriol of partisan news media.

About the audio: The Beautification Machines audio is a 36 minute looping program comprised of four, nine-minute movements. Each movement incorporates a simultaneous live feed from Fox News (in the left channel) and MSNBC (in the right channel) which is fed through a six minute sequence of dynamic filters and stereophonic automation. Each live cycle is followed by a three minute composition, created entirely from Fox and MSNBC audio samples. An extended, pre-recorded sound bite follows and concludes each composed section before beginning a new one.
