Karen Sixkiller

Biography
 Karen Sixkiller is a contemporary Cherokee sculptor and multi-disciplinary artist currently based on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington.
Her work—spanning ceramic, bronze, steel, and intricate beadwork—explores the intersection of Native social justice, cultural research, and traditional storytelling. With a background in social psychology and public health, Sixkiller applies a rigorous research-based approach to her practice, often using humor and "visual storytelling" to address complex themes like generational trauma, the commodification of sacred traditions, and Indigenous resilience. Sixkiller's work was awarded the Blue Ribbon at SWAIA 2023 Santa Fe Indian Market and a Blue Ribbon winner at Red Cloud Art Show 2024.
