Friday, November 21 | 11AM – 1PM

Talk with Al Farrow beginning at 12PM

EXiT | Catharine Clark Gallery

248 Utah St. San Francisco CA

We invite you to join us on November 21 for an event in concert with the nationwide collective protest "Fall of Freedom." EXiT at Catharine Clark Gallery will host an artist talk with Al Farrow, whose sculpture "White House,” a scale replica of the White House constructed entirely from bullets and ammunition, is currently on view in our north viewing room. This morning event will be accompanied by donuts and coffee. This event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP in advance via the link above.

Also on view are works by the interdisciplinary and politically engaged artist duo LigoranoReese, including "Borrowed Time" in our publication room and "Vanishing Finish" in EXiT's main gallery. We will also be screening documentation of the recently installed temporary monument "Democracy," which was erected in front of the US Capitol on the National Mall on October 15, 2025. Melting over eight hours, this sculptural activation can be viewed in its entirety at Catharine Clark Gallery on November 21.

"Fall of Freedom is an urgent call to the arts community to unite in defiance of authoritarian forces sweeping the nation. Our democracy is under attack. Threats to free expression are rising. Dissent is being criminalized. Institutions and media have been recast as mouthpieces of propaganda.

This fall, we are activating a nationwide wave of creative resistance. Beginning November 21–22, 2025, galleries, museums, libraries, comedy clubs, theaters, and concert halls across the country will host exhibitions, performances, and public events that channel the urgency of this moment. Fall of Freedom is an open invitation to artists, creators, and communities to take part—and to celebrate the experiences, cultures, and identities that shape the fabric of our nation.

Art matters. Artists are a threat to American fascism."

We hope you will join us on November 21. Doors open at 11:00 AM, with the artist talk beginning at noon. The gallery will remain open until 6:00 PM. We will be providing donuts and coffee.

We look forward to welcoming you.
