Sandow Birk: White Out (New Paintings for the US Capitol)

September 17 – October 22, 2022

Catharine Clark Gallery opens its Fall program with Sandow Birk’s White Out (New Paintings for the US Capitol). Structured in response to a series of foundational history paintings in Washington, D.C., Birk’s ambitious work reimagines cultural tropes associated with American exceptionalism to reveal the cracks in the mythology of America.

Opening reception: Saturday, September 17 from 11am - 2pm. Artist talk at 12pm.
