    MORE about this artwork

Catharine Clark Gallery is proud to present Whitney Lynn's video work The Siren (2019) in its entirety via IGTV and Remote Access through September 5, 2020. In The Siren, a mermaid-costumed protagonist anxiously scales the crumbling remains of a graffiti-covered bunker, perched precariously on a coastal cliff known as Devil's Slide. As a low frequency audio score rumbles, the "siren" struggles to gain footing, bound by a garment that combines an image of kitsch seduction with an unsettling vulnerability. Lynn's video is presented in concert with Hotheads, a solo exhibition of recent paintings by acclaimed artist Julie Heffernan.
