At Catharine Clark Gallery we take great pleasure in presenting outdoor works by artists that redefine the relationship between art and environment. Whether situated in a private collection or within a public context, these projects invite a deeper engagement with landscape, history, and place.
Our selection in this newsletter highlights sculptural and site-responsive works by Marie Watt, Wanxin Zhang, and by collaborators: Lenka Clayton and Phillip Andrew Lewis, and Deborah Oropallo and Andy Rappaport. From cast bronze finished with an unexpected bubble-gum pink patina, to kites that flutter in the canopy of trees, to neon signage reminding us of the histories of the land we inhabit—these works expand the possibilities of encounter and reflection.
Placed within landscapes, outdoor artworks do more than occupy space: they shape it, reframing how we see, move, and remember.
