‘True North’: di Rosa seeks artwork submissions for biennial show

The show features works by artists from Sonoma, Napa, Marin and Solano counties

Di Rosa Center for Contemporary Arts announces an open call for “True North”, a biennial juried exhibition of artwork by North Bay artists. The artwork submission period opens Aug. 2, and closes Tuesday, Sept. 10, or when 1,000 entries are reached, whichever comes first. Artists may submit one artwork for consideration, with an entry fee of $20.

“True North” is open to artists over the age of 18 currently living or working in the North Bay, defined as Marin, Napa, Solano, and Sonoma counties. Amateurs and professionals are invited to submit work. Submissions will be juried by Lisa Crallé, artist, curator, and founder and director of Personal Space in Vallejo; Reniel Del Rosario, artist; and Justin Wyckoff, art conservator and writer. This second iteration of True North will be on view at di Rosa from Nov. 16 to Feb. 16, 2025.

“2022’s inaugural juried exhibition demonstrated the exciting range of surprising, provocative work coming from the Bay Area’s northern outposts," said Twyla Ruby, associate curator at di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art. "The second iteration of True North promises to continue this dialogue with artists living or working on the geographic periphery of the Bay Area art world.”
